Opening The Shutter To Something New

“Although street photography is not a creative avenue I usually explore, I do when the Leica specialists come to town.“

“Shots through storefront windows, revealing what was inside and reflecting what was outside, easily became my favorite views.”
From dress shops to barbershops, each one offered fodder for storytelling imagery.

“Considering photographs are storytelling images, and anything goes as far as the imagination can see to create. Myriad shapes, sizes, and colors make for interesting differences. Playful or joyous happenings are usually colorful, while more formal or melancholic scenes are often black and white.”

“I captured a few photos with color variation in mind. Not being a seasoned street photographer, I was curious how much the atmosphere or mood would alter the processing. Black and white versus color prints significantly differ with portraiture and still life images. This much I knew. I found the same to be true with street shots.”

“Many thanks, Jeff and Amanda at Camera Culture – The Photo Center located at 24 Monmouth St, Red Bank, NJ 07701, for making the photo walk event possible!”
